About Me

From Curiosity About the Brain to Training the Body That Carries It

I've spent my career asking one question: How do we use movement to change the brain — and the life attached to it?

Hand Holding Brain

My Story

Growing up, I was fascinated by why people move the way they do — not just physically, but neurologically. That curiosity led me to York University, where I completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Neuropsychology. I wanted to understand the brain. What I discovered was that the brain can't be separated from the body.

That realization changed everything.

I became a certified personal trainer, then a strength and conditioning specialist, then a nutritionist. I trained as a Behavioural Technician and completed Parkinson's Canada's PD101 Carefiver program. I pursued certification as an Adaptive Needs Personal Trainer. And I kept studying — I'm now completing a Master of Science in Sports and Health Sciences with a concentration in chronic conditions at American Military University.

Each credential wasn't a box to check. It was an answer to a question my clients were asking: "Can you help someone like me?"

The answer is yes.

What I Believe

Movement is the most underused medicine we have.

For someone with Parkinson's Disease, a structured strength and conditioning program doesn't just build muscle — it can slow motor decline, improve gait, reduce fall risk, and increase independence. For someone on the Autism Spectrum, intentional physical training isn't just exercise — it's a tool for regulation, body awareness, and routine.

I believe that everyone deserves a coach who actually understands their condition — not just their fitness level.

What I Do

I own and operate Let'sTalkMe Inc., a motor and behaviour rehabilitation company serving individuals with Parkinson's Disease, ASD, and related chronic conditions. We provide in-home and community-based services across the Greater Toronto Area.

I also serve as Head of the Health and Wellness Department at the Glendon Athletic Club, part of York University's Glendon Campus — where I lead programming, train athletes, and manage a team of health professionals.

And I'm building this space — coachmariozr.com — to share what I'm learning, document the journey, and connect with others who believe in the power of movement.
